Prince William Board of County Supervisors approved an increased FY17 Building Development Fee Schedule in conjunction with the FY17 Budget Adoption. The higher fees are effective July 1, 2016.

Prince William County's Police Department 2015 Crime Report released June 14 identifies the county's most dangerous intersections based on crash numbers. Fifteen intersections are targeted for the Roadway Incident Management Program in 2016 to improve safety.

Development Services Customers: The offices within the Prince William County Department of Development Services will be closed on Tuesday, June 14 from 2 to 5 p.m. The development counters (Zoning, Site Permits, Building Plan Intake and Building Permits) will also be closed during this same time period.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration is forecasting a hotter than normal summer for much of the United States. On May 19, NOAA's Climate Prediction Center wrote: "The June-July-August 2016 temperature outlook indicates increased probabilities of above-normal temperatures across much of the continental U.S. ... The highest probabilities for above-normal temperatures are nearer the coasts."

The SCC staff report issued June 2 noted [pages 17-21] that the potential customer may have to pay the excess cost, estimated at $115 million, between constructing an overhead route down I-66 and placing the project underground as the local legislative delegation and overwhelming numbers of the public requested, according to a news release from Del. Prince William County School Board June 1 balanced the need to protect programs, positions, and raises, with the risk of cutting its reserve safety net, passing a final 2017 Prince William County Schools (PWCS) budget in the face of lower-than-anticipated county funding.
