Congressman Rob Wittman (VA-1) who represents part of Prince William County released the following statement Jan. 13 after voting in favor of a budget resolution allowing the House and Senate to begin the Obamacare repeal and replacement process.

.S. Sen Mark R. Warner (D-VA), a member of the Senate Budget Committee, issued a statement today on the 51-48 FY 2017 Budget Resolution vote by the Senate, which would begin the process of repealing the Affordable Care Act (ACA) without providing a viable replacement:

In 2015, a strain of avian influenza resulted in economic losses of more than a billion dollars and led to the death of 50 million chickens and turkeys in the upper Midwest. That same strain, H5N2, was detected in a wild duck in Montana-wild waterfowl are known carriers of avian influenza.

Governor Terry McAuliffe has announced that All Traffic Solutions (ATS), that offers cloud-based traffic management solutions for law enforcement, transportation and smart cities will establish its corporate headquarters operation in Fairfax County. The new facility is located at Worldgate Centre in the Town of Herndon.

Virginia Democrats on Jan. 9 announced new legislation that would allow borrowers to refinance student loan debt. The bill, sponsored by Delegate Marcus Simon (D-Falls Church), would revive the Virginia Education Loan Authority (VELA) and empower the entity to re-finance high-interest student loans. An estimated 629,000 Virginians could benefit from re-financing their loans.
