Apple Federal Credit Union (FCU) recently announced that Larry Kelly, president and chief executive officer, will retire at the end of June. Andrew (Andy) C. Expect delays on Old Centreville Rd. for 12-4 a.m. bridge beam removal at Bull Run June 26-30

Intermittent full closures will occur along Old Centreville Road in Manassas on the bridge over Bull Run the nights of Monday, June 26 through Friday, June 30 between midnight and 4 a.m. each night in order to remove bridge beams, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation. Each stoppage will last up to 15 minutes. Drivers should expect delays and use alternate routes.

On June 7, 2017, the Prince William County School Board approved, among other actions, purchase of 92.4 acres of land at University Boulevard for the proposed 13th high school; and reclassification of school nurses by moving them from the classified scale to the teacher's salary scale commensurate with how teachers are placed on the scale.

New tax credit available to Virginia farmers to help reduce food waste

Virginia farmers have an incentive to donate excess product to nonprofit food banks due to the Food Crop Donation Tax Credit. Approved by the Virginia General Assembly during the 2016 Session, farmers who donate edible food crops to a nonprofit food bank can receive up to a 30 percent tax credit for their donation.
