Agriculture and forestry industries’ impact on Va. economy up 30 percent in four years

Gov. Terry McAuliffe announced July 18 that a new comprehensive study shows Virginia’s agriculture and forestry industries contribute $91 billion annually to the commonwealth’s economy–a 30 percent increase over results of a 2013 study that found a $70 billion annual economic impact.

Diverging Diamond Interchange (DDI) at Interstate 66 and US 15 will be one step closer to completion once the new traffic signal mast arms are installed at US 15 and VA 55, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation. State to get $834,991 from NOAA to reduce impacts of storm flooding

Governor Terry McAuliffe announced July 14 that Virginia will receive $834,991 in federal funds from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) in Coastal Resilience Grant appropriations to reduce the impacts of storm flooding through natural and nature-based infrastructure.

Virginia inks trade and cultural pact with Mexico City

Manassas City Schools to participate in USDA Summer Food Service Program

Manassas City Public Schools is participating in the Summer Food Service Program July 24-Aug. 11. Breakfast (8:30-9 a.m.) and lunch (noon-12:45 p.m.) will be provided to all children without charge and will be the same for all children regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability, and there will be no discrimination in the course of the meal service.
