Western Prince William Delegate Ian Lovejoy (R-22) has issued a news release saying he will submit five unique pieces of legislation aimed at mitigating growing data center impacts, particularly in Prince William County.

PWC dogs need tags by Feb. 1

Any dog not having a 2019 license tag by February 1 will be in violation of County Code and owners will be subject to a fine. The license fee is $10 per dog. To obtain a license, owners must present a valid rabies certificate for each dog. Licenses may be purchased in person at two sites in Woodbridge and two sites in Manassas.

USDA food programs will go on with full benefits - despite government shutdown

Trump, U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue Jan. 8 announced a plan to ensure that low-income Americans have access to the nutrition they need, despite the inability of Congress to pass an appropriations bill that safely secures our borders. The plan provides full benefits for participants in USDA’s Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) for the month of February.

Justin Wilk elected PWC School Board vice chairman

The Prince William County School Board elected Justin David Wilk, Potomac District, to a one-year term as the vice chairman of the board Jan. 2, 2019. He replaces Lillie Jesse, Occoquan District representative, who had been vice chairman for several years. The School Board recently changed its by-laws so the vice chairman serves a one-year term and cannot succeed himself or herself.
