Time to pay Prince William County property taxes; deadline is Dec. 5

Taxpayers are encouraged to pay their taxes before the Dec. 5 due date. A late payment penalty of 10 percent will apply to any unpaid tax balance after the Dec. 5 deadline. Additionally, interest will accrue monthly on unpaid balances at a rate of 10 percent per annum until they are fully paid.

National Park Service to oversee “prescribed” fire at Manassas Battlefield Park near Brawner Farm

Manassas National Battlefield Park is preparing for a prescribed fire today, Nov. 18 through Nov. Friday, 22 on about 75 acres near the Brawner Farm (north of US-29 between Pageland and Featherbed Lanes). This window could be extended depending upon weather conditions, according to the National Park Service.

Two arrested in connection with Lake Ridge Oct. 13 homicide after drug deal goes bad

During the course of the investigation of an Oct. 21 homicide in the 1900 block of Briar Rose Lane, Lake Ridge, Prince William County police homicide detectives identified two suspects. They were arrested Nov. 13.

No trick or treat - Bank robbed Oct. 30 at 3:11 p.m. in Woodbridge

On the day before Halloween, an unknown dressed in a gray hoodie and also wearing a dark-colored baseball type hat, black glasses and gloves, entered the BB&T Bank located at 16541 River Ridge Blvd in Woodbridge and handed a note to a teller.

Two food delivery persons report robberies by three suspects Oct. 21 in Lake Ridge

The victim, a 26-year-old male, reported to police that while making a food delivery in the above area, he was approached by three unknown males who took the money from the victim before fleeing the area on foot. Later in the evening, an additional incident was reported near the above address where three suspects attempted to obtain money in a similar manner. The investigation revealed that the suspects were the same in both incidents.
