Time to pay Prince William County property taxes; deadline is Dec. 5

Taxpayers are encouraged to pay their taxes before the Dec. 5 due date. A late payment penalty of 10 percent will apply to any unpaid tax balance after the Dec. 5 deadline. Additionally, interest will accrue monthly on unpaid balances at a rate of 10 percent per annum until they are fully paid.

$15,000 reward offered for information in case of April 2 murder at Manassas Mall

Prince William County Police Department is offering a $10,000 reward and Northern Virginia Safe Streets/HIDTA Task Force is offering a $5000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspects involved in the shooting that occurred outside Manassas Mall on April 2.

Five candidates for Democratic nomination for Va. Governor to debate on TV April 6

The first televised Democratic gubernatorial debate hosted by the Democratic Party of Virginia will take place at Virginia State University and air live across the Commonwealth on Tuesday, April 6. All five candidates for governor will be participating and the debate will be moderated by CBS 6 anchor Bill Fitzgerald, joined by panelists Cheryl Miller and Barbara Ciara.

Pr. Wm. County extends business tax filing date to May 17

To help businesses impacted by the economic impact of COVID-19, the County has extended the Business Tangible Personal (BTP) Property tax filing deadline from April 15, 2021, to May 17, 2021.

Old Bridge Road - Lake Ridge’s main thoroughfare - to be realigned at a cost of $11.5 million

Information about a project to realign Old Bridge Road at Occoquan Rd. will be posted on Prince William County's website in a virtual presentation on Wednesday March 24 at 7 p.m. The presentation, by the Prince William County Department of Transportation, will cover project scope, schedule, and proposed improvements. The presentation is for public information and comments, a news release said.

Proposed PWC tax rates the same but tax bills will rise due to higher real estate values

The proposed budget maintains a flat real estate tax rate of $1.125 per $100 of assessed value and flat fire levy rate of $0.08 per $100 of assessed value. The average real estate tax bill would increase by $328 ($306 from real estate tax and $22 from fire levy).
