Gov. Glenn Youngkin today, March 14, 2022, announced the start of construction on a 2.5-mile extension of the express lanes on Interstate 495 between the Dulles Corridor and the George Washington Memorial Parkway in Fairfax County.

For several years Social Security impersonation scams have been one of the most common government imposter scams reported to the Federal Trade Commission. Social Security has made concerted efforts to address this issue, and extensive outreach and investigative efforts are having a positive impact, decreasing scam reports to OIG by more than 20 percent since 2020, according to Davis Melton, Public Information Officer.

One of Virginia's U.S. Senators, Tim Kaine, is cosponsoring the bipartisan Ban Russian Energy Imports Act. The legislation would prohibit the importation of Russian crude oil, petroleum products, liquefied natural gas (LNG), and coal. “An immediate ban on Russian energy imports will help ensure we aren’t contributing in any way to financing Russia’s unprovoked and unjustified war against Ukraine,” said Senator Kaine.

Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin signed eight bills into law on March 2. The legislation, all originating in the House of Delegates, addressed taxes, economic development, the Virginia Retirement System and higher education construction. No Prince William delegates had bills in this batch of eight signed.
