PWC Annual Holiday Walk of Lights at Neabsco Regional Park opens Dec. 6

Prince William County Parks and Recreation is hosting its annual Holiday Walk of Lights at Neabsco Regional Park for the third year. The FREE lights display begins Friday, Dec. 6. New this year: Visitors can experience the magic of the holiday season with visits from holiday characters, joyful holiday music sung by carolers and an unforgettable holiday shopping experience on select nights.

Road work continues at Manassas National Battlefield Park

Work to repair and resurface park roads and parking areas will continue at Manassas National Battlefield Park during the week of September 15. The work will be undertaken during non rush-hours, from 9:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M.

Road construction and parking area paving continues Aug. 18-22 at Manassas Battlefield

During the week of Aug. 18-22, road construction work at Manassas National Battlefield Park will occur on North Chinn Road, South Chinn Road, New York Avenue, and the Groveton Confederate Cemetery parking area. The affected roadways and parking areas will be closed to traffic during construction activities.

Parking lot and road repairs to begin at Manassas National Battlefield Park

The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), Eastern Federal Lands Highways Division (EFLHD), in cooperation with the National Park Service (NPS), will begin a four-month construction project to repair and resurface park roads and parking areas at Manassas National Battlefield on Monday, July 21, during non rush-hours, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Six Virginia state parks will test site-specific reservations

Six Virginia State Parks are involved in a two-year pilot program to test a different way of making camp site reservations. Under the pilot, customers can reserve a specific site rather than reserving space in a park campground.

Tourism at 17 national park sites in Virginia creates $926.3 million in economic benefit

A new National Park Service (NPS) report shows that 23,398,517 visitors to national parks in Virginia spent $926.3 million and supported 13,256 jobs in the state in 2012.
