PWC Annual Holiday Walk of Lights at Neabsco Regional Park opens Dec. 6

Prince William County Parks and Recreation is hosting its annual Holiday Walk of Lights at Neabsco Regional Park for the third year. The FREE lights display begins Friday, Dec. 6. New this year: Visitors can experience the magic of the holiday season with visits from holiday characters, joyful holiday music sung by carolers and an unforgettable holiday shopping experience on select nights.

Dec. 21 last day Manassas National Battlefield Park will collect entrance fees

Beginning on Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2015, the National Park Service will no longer be charging an entrance fee for visiting Manassas National Battlefield Park.

Renovations to Theatre at Vint Hill ready for “Christmas Carol” opening on Dec. 4

In an unique cooperative partnership between Fauquier County Department of Parks and Recreation and the Fauquier Community Theatre, the inside of the theatre building at Vint Hill is being renovated and will be ready for the patrons of FCT’s Christmas production of Jacob Marley’s Christmas Carol, that opens next weekend on Dec. 4 for a three-weekend run.

Manassas Battlefield to stop entrance fees Jan. 1

Effective on January 1, 2016, the National Park Service will no longer be charging an entrance fee for visiting Manassas National Battlefield Park.

Community Expo May 9 at Pfitzner Stadium

The public is invited to participate in sport, dance, fitness, fun, and physical challenges at the PWC Community Expo set for Saturday, May 9, from 11 a.m.–3 p.m. at the Pfitzner Stadium Complex.

Local Mom pushes bike and skateboard park in Lake Ridge community

The Lake Ridge community is home to over 7,000 residents who enjoy playgrounds, tot lots, tennis courts, basketball courts, and swimming pools. Wendy Boone would like to add one more outdoor feature to the community - a bike and skateboard park.

Stakeholders meeting Jan. 28 on plans for PWC Landfill eco-park

Plans are in the works to transform the Prince William County Landfill into a community resource for producing green energy and recovering valuable materials at the same time it provides opportunities for research and education.

Roadwork continues at Manassas Battlefield Park

During the week of September 29 – October 3, construction work will occur at Stuart’s Hill, affecting the entrance road and parking area of the park headquarters facility.
