Virginia State Parks are open for day-use activities; however, overnight accommodations and all indoor facilities will be closed through April 30 in response to COVID-19 pandemic.

Prince William County has restricted the use of county parks to trails only. All park parking lots and non-trail amenities were closed to the public today, March 25.

Open Space Arts announces the extension of the artist submission date for the upcoming exhibit, "Global Celebrations: A Holiday Extravaganza." Artists and vendors now have until Sunday Nov. 5 to share their unique interpretations of worldwide holiday festivities.

Effective immediately, Mason Neck State Park in Lorton north of Woodbridge off US 1 is closed to the public until further notice. Virginia park officials said the park is closed after an employee tested positive for COVID-19. The employee is currently at home in quarantine.

The P-Nats Minor League baseball team that moved from Prince William to Fredericksburg for the 2020 season is getting a warm welcome in its new community.

Manassas National Battlefield Park is preparing for a prescribed fire today, Nov. 18 through Nov. Friday, 22 on about 75 acres near the Brawner Farm (north of US-29 between Pageland and Featherbed Lanes). This window could be extended depending upon weather conditions, according to the National Park Service.

Guest speakers, local historians and Prince William Forest Park staff will discuss the history and influence of African Americans in the local community at 2:30 p.m Aug. 25 at Prince William Forest Park visitor center. The park will participate in the ringing of the bells at 3 p.m. Remarks will follow.
