Effective immediately, Mason Neck State Park in Lorton north of Woodbridge off US 1 is closed to the public until further notice. Virginia park officials said the park is closed after an employee tested positive for COVID-19. The employee is currently at home in quarantine.

Manassas National Battlefield Park is preparing for a prescribed fire today, Nov. 18 through Nov. Friday, 22 on about 75 acres near the Brawner Farm (north of US-29 between Pageland and Featherbed Lanes). This window could be extended depending upon weather conditions, according to the National Park Service.

Guest speakers, local historians and Prince William Forest Park staff will discuss the history and influence of African Americans in the local community at 2:30 p.m Aug. 25 at Prince William Forest Park visitor center.
