The charming small town of Clifton, tucked into a Fairfax County hamlet near Manassas and Centreville in Fairfax County, will be a-buzz this coming Saturday, Dec. 3, with a Horse Parade at 1 p.m., Arts & Craft Show from 2 to 7 p.m. and a Historic Homes Tour from 4 to 7 p.m. The parade and arts & craft show are free with $29 admission for the homes tour.

Grace Episcopal Church in The Plains has served as a showcase for new works by area artists for 74 years with a one-year interruption in 2020 due to COVID-19. The Piedmont Regional Art Show & Sale annually draws more than 200 works in oil, acrylic, watercolor, graphics, photography and other media. The works are exhibited in the church hall and may be purchased. Judges evaluate the entries and award prizes.

Manassas Church of the Brethren, 10047 Nokesville Road, Manassas, reports it will host an Arts and Crafts Festival on Saturday, Nov. 5, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The event aims to empower women’s health and give back to the community by supporting cancer related services.

Willing Warriors Retreat at Bull Run will present its 5th Annual Warrior Ride on Saturday, Sept.10. The event will kick off with the Metric Ride at 7:45 a.m. from the grounds of the Farm Brewery at Broad Run located at 16015 John Marshall Hwy (Rt. 55), Broad Run, VA 20137. NOVEC HELPS, is collecting new, unwrapped toys and gifts for children and teens living in area homeless shelters. Donations may be dropped off through Friday, Dec. 8, at the NOVEC office at 10323 Lomond Drive. Manassas.

The show is a fundraiser for the church and as a showcase for area artists to exhibit their work. There is a Friday night gala on Oct. 22 (admission $15 per person, free to artists and sponsors) from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The show is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 23 and from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 24 to view the entries. Admission is free. Proof of a COVID vaccination or negative PCR test within 72 hours is required of those attending the show or gala.

Just in time for holiday gift shopping, this pop-up sale features "a wide variety of artisan ceramics at bargain prices," and "all of the one-of-a-kind items that will be offered for sale at the event have been handcrafted by students and teachers."
