One of Virginia's U.S. Senators, Tim Kaine, is cosponsoring the bipartisan Ban Russian Energy Imports Act. The legislation would prohibit the importation of Russian crude oil, petroleum products, liquefied natural gas (LNG), and coal. “An immediate ban on Russian energy imports will help ensure we aren’t contributing in any way to financing Russia’s unprovoked and unjustified war against Ukraine,” said Senator Kaine.

The office of Rep. Gerry Connolly (D-VA) reports that the Congressman is one of eight members of a House of Representatives' delegation who flew out of the U.S. on Friday, March 4 on a bipartisan oversight trip to see firsthand the humanitarian crisis created by Putin’s invasion of Ukraine. UVA Health reports that it has joined a nationwide study evaluating two repurposed medications in the search for effective, safe treatments for mild-to-moderate COVID-19.
