Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker Aug. 29 visited Prince William County to participate in a GOP cookout and rally organized by the Prince William Area Young Republican Club and Prince William County Republican Committee.

U.S. Sens. Mark R. Warner and Tim Kaine (both D-VA) Aug. 6 marked the 50th anniversary of President Lyndon B. Johnson signing the Voting Rights Act by renewing their call for the Senate to take up legislation that would restore and advance voting protections for all Americans.

Congressman Rob Wittman (VA-1), who represents part of Prince William County, was named an Honorary Marine in a ceremony Monday in Washington. Wittman is the 96th recipient of the Honorary Marine title, which recognizes civilians who have made “extraordinary contributions to the Marine Corps.”

Congresswoman Barbara Comstock (R-VA, who represents Manassas, Manassas Park and part of Prince William County) was recently named a ‘Hero of Main Street’ by the National Retail Federation.

The U.S. Senate is honoring the courage and sacrifice of the men and women of the U.S. intelligence community by designating this Sunday, July 26, 2015 as “United States Intelligence Professionals Day.”

Rep. Rob Wittman, who represents part of Prince William County, and Rep. Ron Kind, from Wisconsin, introduced the Neotropical Migratory Bird Conservation Act, which funds habitat protection, education, researching, and monitoring to provide long-term protection of neotropical migratory birds.
