With the clock ticking on the federal government’s fiscal calendar, Congresswoman Barbara Comstock (R-VA) Congressman Don Beyer (D-VA) and Congressman Rob Wittman (R-VA) are preparing legislation to protect federal employees from a government shutdown. The Federal Employee Retroactive Pay Fairness Act would guarantee back pay for all furloughed workers in the event of a shutdown.

The Air National Guard has chosen Joint Base Langley-Eustis (JBLE) for an Air Force Cyber Operations Squadron. Virginia’s bipartisan delegation has been advocating to locate the cyber facility at JBLE since December 2014.

Virginians are solidly opposed to President Obama’s plans to allow Syrian refugees into the country, with many residents concerned that doing so would make a future terrorist attack more likely, according to a new survey sponsored by the University of Mary Washington’s Center for Leadership and Media Studies.
