Governor to propose 2 percent pay increase for state employees and teachers in 2017

Governor Terry McAuliffe announced Dec. 10 that his budget includes funds for 2 percent pay increases for state employees, college faculty, teachers, sheriff’s deputies and other public workers, effective July 10, 2017. This is the first time since 2008 that a governor’s introduced budget has included funds for state worker pay increases.
