Fantasy contest operator registration applications must be filed by July 1 under new law

Operators who offer fantasy contests in the Commonwealth must register with VDACS as a result of recent legislation, Chapters 318 and 703 of the 2016 Acts of Assembly. Registration is required beginning July 1, 2016.

House Bill (HB) 477, was signed into law by the governor. This puts us on the road to reality for constructing the Northern Virginia Veterans Care Center. The chosen location is Vint Hill.

Candland asks residents to sign e-petition to SCC urging burying proposed power lines

Gainesville Supervisor Pete Candland is again asking residents to sign the e-petition asking the Virginia State Corporation Commission (SCC) to accept its staff report which recommends that the proposed Dominion Power Lines be buried rather than strung overhead.

VDOT to shift US 15 traffic Friday beginning at 10 p.m.

Traffic on US 15 in Haymarket will be moved to new bridge as part of Diverging Diamond Interchange project between 10 p.m. Friday June 10 and 9 a.m. on Saturday, June 11.
