Governor McAuliffe ceremonially signed the Military Medics and Corpsmen bill, establishing the Virginia Military Medics and Corpsmen (MMAC) Pilot Program on June 27. Virginia is the first state in the nation to offer this kind of innovative pathway to employment for these highly skilled veterans.

Some 604 acres of the 900-acre Blue Ridge Center for Environmental Stewardship land preserve, donated by the Robert and Dee Leggett Foundation to the Old Dominion Land Conservancy, were acquired June 14 by Virginia's Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR).
