The Virginia Film Office has announced the three winners of the 2016 Virginia Screenwriting Competition. The winners and their screenplays are: Ron Basso (Virginia Beach) FOR LOVE OF COUNTRY, Eric Carlson (Williamsburg) REACH FOR THE SKY, and Jesse Robinson (Alexandria) WHERE TEARDROPS FALL.

Virginia Department of Transportation is joining with other organizations across the nation to recognize National Traffic Incident Response Week, Nov. 14-18.

Fall is the breeding season for deer, and consequently, deer are more active now than at any other time of the year. One-half to two-thirds of all deer/vehicle collisions occur in the months of October, November and December. While less than 2 percent of vehicle fatalities and injuries involve deer collisions in Virginia, hitting a deer can cause considerable damage to both people and property.
