Old Centreville Rd. bridge over Bull Run back to two lanes today, Aug. 26

The Old Centreville Road bridge over Bull Run will reopen to traffic in both directions Saturday morning, Aug. 26, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.

Logmill Road in Haymarket closed Aug. 28-Sept. 1 to replace a stormwater pipe

Logmill Road (Route 701) between Route 234 and Shelter Lane (Route 601) will be closed to through traffic, weather permitting, from 7 a.m. Monday, Aug. 28 to 3:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 1 for stormwater pipe replacement, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.

County Police locate human remains in Nokesville, near VA 28 and Fauquier Drive

On Tuesday, Aug. 22 at approximately 7 p.m., Prince William County Police located human remains in an area near Nokesville Rd and Fauquier Dr in Nokesville (20181), according to Sgt. Jonathan L. Perok, police department spokesman.

Four southbound lanes of Rt. 28 from Waxpool to Rt. 50 now complete

With construction work now officially complete, drivers have four lanes on southbound Route 28 from Waxpool Road to Route 50, as well as northbound Route 28 from McLearen Road to the Dulles Toll Road (lanes first opened in late June). The portion of the fourth southbound lane from Waxpool Road to Innovation Avenue opened to traffic in January.The spot widening began in September 2015.

Update: VDOT to close Loudoun Drive in Haymarket Aug. 16-17 to replace culvert

Loudoun Drive (Route 615) between Mountain Road (Route 600) and Rolling Ridge Road (Route 1750) will be closed to through traffic, weather permitting, from 7 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 16 to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 17 for culvert replacement, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation. This was rescheduled because of Aug. 15 rain.

Seven-year old IT firm at Tyson’s to create 400 new jobs with expansion

Governor Terry McAuliffe announced Aug. 10 that Mission Services Inc. (MSI), a leading provider of unique and innovative information technology (IT) support services for federal agencies, will invest $820,000 to expand its operation in Fairfax County. Virginia successfully competed against Colorado, Florida, Maryland, Ohio, and Texas for the project, which will create 400 new jobs.
