Classroom teacher turned Virginia Secretary of Education, Atif Qarni, has not forgotten his students. Qarni started the school year as an eighth-grade civics teacher at Beville Middle School in Prince William County. After winning the November Gubernatorial Election, Ralph Northam appointed Qarni to the state’s top educational post in Richmond. Shortly after settling in, he invited his former students to his new home.

Route 1 traffic will be shifting onto new pavement. The northbound lanes between Mount Pleasant Drive and Dawson Beach Road will shift Friday beginning at 10 a.m.; the southbound lanes between Occoquan Road and Marys Way will shift Monday beginning at 10 a.m. Both shifts are weather permitting.

Outstanding efforts made by individuals and organizations to change the behaviors of Virginia's motorists leading to crash, injury, and fatality reduction may be nominated for the 2018 Virginia Governor's Transportation Safety Awards. Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles’ Highway Safety Office is accepting nominations through March 16, 2018 for 13 different transportation safety categories.

In the Virginia Department of Aviation's just released the Economic Impact Study of 57 General Aviation and nine commercial airports, Manassas Regional Airport topped the list with economic activity of $375.4 million, with 1,351 aviation jobs and wages of $117.4 million

Del. Hugo’s HB1256, HB1284, HB1291 passed the House Transportation Committee. All three bills deal with tolling inside the beltway (ITB) on I-66 that was recently implemented by the outgoing McAuliffe administration.
