History was made Feb. 19 as the first woman Chair of the Senate Finance and Appropriations Committee presented the Senate budget. SB 29 and SB 30 were adopted with bipartisan support. Now a committee will resolve the differences between the House of Delegates and the Virginia Senate approved budgets.

The House of Delegates Appropriations Committee released and passed its 2020 Budget on Feb. 17, according to a report from Del. Hala Ayala of Lake Ridge, who represents part of the Prince William County area. This includes the Governor’s Budget as well as numerous budget amendments presented to and approved by the Appropriations Committee, she said.
