Virginia Department of Health (VDH) has closed five of its Community Vaccination Centers (CVCs) today Friday, January 7, 2022, due to expected inclement weather. VDOT crews are ready for snow forecasted across northern Virginia from late Thursday evening through Friday morning. Additional concerns for this snowstorm are temperatures that are consistently below freezing, as well as predicted wind gusts.

Virginia's Gov.-elect Glenn Youngkin has named Craig Crenshaw, a retired U.S. Marine Corps Major General from Stafford, as secretary of veterans and defense affairs and Daniel Gade as commissioner of the Department of Veterans Services, according to Virginia Business.

Virginia Business is reporting today, Dec. 15, that exiting Virginia Governor Ralph Northam, who leaves office next month, has proposed four tax cuts, "including eliminating Virginia’s 1.5% sales tax on groceries and providing an income tax cut for low- and middle-income Virginians."

Two lanes of southbound I-95 between Rte. 123 (Gordon Blvd.) and the Prince William Pkwy. (Route 294) will be closed, weather permitting, Saturday night, Nov. 6 and Sunday night, Nov. 7, and the right lane of southbound I-95 between RTe.123 and PW Parkway will be closed Monday night, Nov. 8, The closings are to implement a traffic shift, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.
