Emergency preparedness exercise scheduled this week for the North Anna Power Station

Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will evaluate a Biennial Radiological Emergency Preparedness Exercise for communities around the North Anna Power Station, which is located about 35 miles south of Prince William County. The exercise will occur during the week of July 18, 2022, to assess the ability of the Commonwealth of Virginia to respond to an emergency at the nuclear facility.

The quarantine also helps businesses avoid additional restrictions that could be placed on the movement of products from spotted lanternfly infested areas to states and regions where the insect has not been detected.
