Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin met today, April 27, 2023, with Prime Minister of Japan Fumio Kishida to discuss opportunities for additional trade and foreign investment between Virginia and Japan.

Camp Woods and Wildlife is a unique field-based learning experience that introduces students to natural resource careers in Virginia’s largest state forest. The 31 bridges of New River Trail State Park, Virginia’s 57-mile rails-to-trails linear park near Galax, will close as a series of repairs are made over the next 18 months. Portions of the trail will be closed intermittently as work takes place. The park will remain open due to its many access points. Specific dates for any bridge closures are dependent upon contractors and their receipt of construction materials.

Jill Balow, Virginia's Superintendent of Public Instruction, announced her resignation March 1 as the commonwealth’s chief school officer effective March 9 in a letter to Governor Glenn Youngkin. She will have served a little more than 13 months when she steps down.

Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation campgrounds open on March 3. Full-service campgrounds with bathhouses are open from the first Friday in March through the first Monday in December.
