New office of Virginia Department of Veterans Services (VDVS) now open at The Pentagon

Gov. Terry McAuliffe on Jan. 9 opened a new office of Virginia Dept. of Veterans Services to serve veterans and transitioning servicemen and women and their families who work in the headquarters of the US Department of Defense. The new VDVS Pentagon location marks the 30th office location in the state. Connolly sponsors bill expanding eligibility for servicemembers to transfer education benefits

Currently, the Post-9/11 Veterans Educational Assistance Act of 2008 allows certain servicemembers to transfer all or some of their unused education benefits to their spouse or dependent children. The EARNED Act would expand that eligibility to any active duty or retired member of the Armed Forces who has at least 20 years of active-duty service.
