A new law passed by the 2019 General Assembly will make it easier for former military personnel with experience driving commercial vehicles in the service to get a Virginia commercial driver’s license (CDL) upon leaving the military. The law goes into effect July 1.

U.S. Sen. Mark R. Warner (D-VA) wrote May 13 to four private military housing companies to request strategies from each company on how it plans to tackle the deplorable health hazards documented by military families in Virginia and throughout the nation.

Senator Mark Warner will host his annual Virginia Service Academy Day on Saturday, April 27th, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Paramount Theater in Charlottesville. The event will offer students, parents, and school counselors a comprehensive overview of the United States service academies and their admission processes.

Manassas National Battlefield Park is preparing for a second prescribed fire between March 26 and April 5, 2019. These dates may be extended depending upon weather conditions. The planned fire will be in the Deep Cut area of the battlefield, encompassing approximately 40 acres of open fields and brush.

On Tuesday, March 26, at 7:30 p.m., go to Freedom Museum at Manassas Airport to learn about the eVTOL, known as the Personal Air Vehicle (PAV), which had its first successful, highly publicized flight at the Manassas Regional Airport in January.
