United States Military Academy at West Point, NY announced the Rhodes Scholars for the Class of 2021, CDT Tyrese Bender and CDT Evan Walker. They are part of a select group of 32 scholars from the United States and will be joining recipients from more than 60 other countries. The last time West Point had more than one Rhodes Scholar was in 2014.

The Virginia Department of Education and the Virginia Council on the Interstate Compact on Educational Opportunity for Military Children are recognizing ten Prince William County Schools among 123 schools designated as “Purple Star” schools. The Purple Star designation is awarded to military-friendly schools that have demonstrated their commitment to meeting the needs of military-connected students and their families.
