Congressman Rob Wittman (VA-1), who represents part of Prince William County, was named an Honorary Marine in a ceremony Monday in Washington. Wittman is the 96th recipient of the Honorary Marine title, which recognizes civilians who have made “extraordinary contributions to the Marine Corps.”

Following its July 4th ribbon cutting, Serve Our Willing Warriors is moving quickly onto its next phase, a test period with outpatient troops being invited to use and evaluate its Bull Run Warrior Retreat in Haymarket.

Serve Our Willing Warriors (SOWW) in Haymarket is holding a ribbon cutting at its Bull Run Warrior Retreat on Saturday, July 4th, from 1 to 4 p.m. The Retreat will serve our Nation’s wounded, ill and injured service members and their families. The event will feature a special performance by the United States Army Old Guard Fife and Drum Corps.

The "Building for America's Bravest" team of the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation will break ground Monday, June 29 at 11 a.m. at 13460 Nokesville Road, Nokesville, on a customized new "smart home" for Retired USMC Cpl. Adam Devine, who was catastrophically injured in Afghanistan.

The annual legislation, which was approved by the House of Representatives by a bipartisan vote of 269-151 on May 15, provides policy guidance and authorization for the Department of Defense.
