The Prince William Board of County Supervisors recently amended the County Code to increase the amount people are charged for having their cars towed after parking illegally. The amendment allows the rate for towing vehicles weighing less than 10,001 to go from $125 to $135. The rate to tow vehicles weighing between 10,001 and 26,000 pounds has gone from $175 to $250, and the rate to tow vehicles weighing more than 26,000 pounds has increased from $300 to $475.

Motorists on eastbound I-66 were told to expect major delays during the morning rush Wednesday, July 29, as the right shoulder ‘X’ lane between Nutley Street and I-495 was closed for repairs to the concrete foundation of an overhead gantry for the under-construction Active Traffic Management System, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.

Virginia Department of Transportation will close Interstate 66 westbound in Fauquier County next Wednesday, July 15 and Thursday, July 16 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night for work to the Rte. 723 (Ashville Road) bridge over I-66. Originally the detour was slated for July 14-15.

On this day representatives of government departments and construction businesses gathered at 7500 Iron Bar Lane in the Virginia Gateway Shopping Center for a ribbon cutting to celebrate the completion of the Gainesville Interchange.
