The Potomac and Rappahannock Transportation Commission, which operates mobility services under the name OmniRide, is seeking help from its Congressional delegation to deal with significant revenue losses resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic.

In response to declining ridership while many people telework during the COVID-19 pandemic, OmniRide will make changes to some of its Express commuter bus schedules effective Wednesday, March 25, 2020. No changes are currently anticipated for OmniRide Metro Express, OmniRide Local or OmniRide Access paratransit services.

City of Manassas is temporarily designating several parking spaces in the Historic Downtown as 15 Minute Parking Only to facilitate Pick Up and Delivery options during this Pandemic. The spaces will be clearly marked but include only the existing on-street parking along Battle and Main Streets between Church Street and the railroad tracks.

OmniRide announced several changes March 18 to help protect the public and OmniRide employees from the COVID-19 pandemic while still providing vital mobility services in our community, a news release said.

Beginning Monday, Dec. 9, weather permitting, I-95 southbound and northbound general purpose lanes near the bridges over Neabsco Creek (approximately mile marker 155.7) will have lane closures for bridge-related geotechnical work, VDOT says. The public is invited to the annual Northern Virginia Joint Transportation Meeting on Monday, Dec. 2 at VDOT's Northern Virginia office 4975 Alliance Drive, Fairfax, VA 22030. The meeting will start at 6:30 p.m. with an open house where attendees can talk with representatives from each agency. A listening session with a panel of appointed officials from various agencies will begin at 7:15 p.m. and will be streamed online as the panel receives public comments about Virginia’s transportation network. The listening session video recording and display boards will be posted online at vdot.virginia.gov/novatransportationmeeting.

Weather permitting, ramp will be closed as follows: 9:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 16 to 5 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17 and 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17 to 5 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18.
