VDOT reschedules repaving in Ocoquan

Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) has rescheduled repaving in the Town of Occoquan for Monday Nov. 1 and Tuesday. Nov. 2.

New traffic signal at Sudley Manor Dr. and Seymour Rd.  in Manassas

The new signal is expected to improve safety and accessibility for pedestrians and drivers and improve operations at the intersection not far from Bull Run Shopping Center.

Nighttime closures for Tanyard Hill Rd./Union St. for paving in Occoquan Oct.27-29

Tanyard Hill Road/Union Street between Old Bridge Road and Commerce Street will be closed to through traffic nightly, weather permitting, Wednesday, Oct. 27 through Friday, Oct. 29 between 7 p.m. and 5 a.m. each night for paving, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.

During the Oct. 8 encounter on PW Parkway, the accused allegedly forced the victim out of her vehicle before driving off in it.

US Senate passes 9/11 National Memorial Trail legislation; now goes to the President for signature

The U.S. Senate has passed H.R. 2278, bipartisan legislation to designate the “September 11th National Memorial Trail”, a trail route linking the National September 11th Memorial and Museum in New York City, the Pentagon Memorial in Arlington, Virginia, and the Flight 93 National Memorial in Somerset County, Pennsylvania.

OmniRide service changes take effect Monday, Sept. 27

OmniRide’s Fall Service Change will take effect on Monday, Sept. 27, when schedules for Express, Metro Express, and Local routes will change. The Lake Ridge – Mark Center Express route is still suspended. In order to minimize interactions between bus operators and riders and allow customers to board quickly and self-distance more effectively, OmniRide has instituted free fares on Local and Metro Express services.

2013 silver Hyundai carjacked from Ikea loading area Aug. 16 near sundown

Victim was parked in the loading area when an unknown man in a black hat and face mask approached his 2013 Silver Hyundai Elantra with Virginia license plate: UGK-4004. According to Master Police Officer Renee Carr, public information officer for Prince William County Police Department, the suspect opened the driver’s door and brandished a firearm before demanding the victim exit the vehicle. When the victim got out of the vehicle, the suspect got into the driver’s seat and drove out of the area.
