Today, Feb. 10, U.S. Senators Mark R. Warner and Tim Kaine announced $15,745,244 in federal funding for Virginia to build electric vehicle (EV) charging stations. This is the first of five installments totaling $106,375,132 for building EV charging stations across the Commonwealth over the next five years.

Prince William County Department of Transportation (PWC DOT) invites the public to a virtual information session, “Transportation Tuesday,” on the Rte. 28 Bypass Project on Feb. 22 at noon.

VDOT Crews continue to work treating icy spots, but roads are generally clear. Please assume that anything that looks wet is icy. Temperatures are expected to stay below freezing into Monday, causing continued icy conditions. Be extra careful on bridges, ramps, overpasses, and elevated surfaces.

Governor Glenn Youngkin declared a state of emergency today, Jan. 20, due to several rounds of winter weather that will impact several areas of the Commonwealth beginning Thursday and lasting through Saturday.

As of Saturday, Jan. 15, 2022: at 11 a.m. VDOT Northern Virginia reports that its crews "are ready for snowfall and wintry precipitation that are forecast to significantly impact the region Sunday and Monday."

On Saturday, Jan. 8, 2022 at 8:22PM, Prince William County Police Department investigators with the Crash Investigation Unit responded to Sudley Rd. and Sudley Manor Dr. in Manassas (20109) to investigate a crash involving a pedestrian.

VDOT crews are ready for snow forecasted across northern Virginia from late Thursday evening through Friday morning. Additional concerns for this snowstorm are temperatures that are consistently below freezing, as well as predicted wind gusts.

The public is invited to join representatives of VDOT, the Commonwealth of Virginia, Northern Virginia Transportation Authority, Northern Virginia Transportation Commission, Virginia Railway Express and other agencies for a virtual public project update meeting tonight, Dec. 15.
