Manassas National Battlefield Park was among seven national parks in Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia and the District of Columbiathat donated more than 12,000 pounds of venison to local nonprofit organizations that will serve approximately 48,000 meals to families in need. Underground blasting for water project to temporarily close some areas in Town of Occoquan

Tunnel construction for water project under the Occoquan River will involve occasional underground blasting procedures starting this month, April, and projected to end in September. Such blasting will consist of a single, one-second blast every other day, between the hours of 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. No blasting will take place on Sundays. When blasting is scheduled, there will be a temporary 30-minute closure of the pedestrian footbridge, River Mill Park, the Mill Street cul-de-sac, and the access road on the north side of the river.

The curbside yard waste collection program in Prince William County runs from March through December. The yard waste collection, separate from trash and recycling and performed by a resident’s trash and recycling service provider, occurs weekly. Residents, businesses, apartments, landscapers, etc., are required to arrange a separate collection of yard waste, leaves, and brush.
