Manassas National Battlefield Park was among seven national parks in Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia and the District of Columbiathat donated more than 12,000 pounds of venison to local nonprofit organizations that will serve approximately 48,000 meals to families in need. Manassas donated 1710 pounds according to a news release.

Tunnel construction for water project under the Occoquan River will involve occasional underground blasting procedures starting this month, April, and projected to end in September. Such blasting will consist of a single, one-second blast every other day, between the hours of 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. No blasting will take place on Sundays.
When blasting is scheduled, there will be a temporary 30-minute closure of the pedestrian footbridge, River Mill Park, the Mill Street cul-de-sac, and the access road on the north side of the river.

Camp Woods and Wildlife is a unique field-based learning experience that introduces students to natural resource careers in Virginia’s largest state forest. Students get hands-on opportunities in all things forestry, wildlife and more, guided by natural resource professionals. PFAS are a group of manmade chemicals used in coatings and products that resist heat, oil, stains, grease and water. Because they do not break down in the environment, PFAS can reach surface and groundwater drinking water sources. “The Service Authority’s mission is to provide safe, clean and reliable water to the 380,000 people we serve in Prince William County,” said Calvin D. The curbside yard waste collection program in Prince William County runs from March through December. The yard waste collection, separate from trash and recycling and performed by a resident’s trash and recycling service provider, occurs weekly. Residents, businesses, apartments, landscapers, etc., are required to arrange a separate collection of yard waste, leaves, and brush.
