Western Prince William Delegate Ian Lovejoy (R-22) has issued a news release saying he will submit five unique pieces of legislation aimed at mitigating growing data center impacts, particularly in Prince William County.

Dominion Power files plan to build big solar project in Fauquier

Dominion Virginia Power filed an application with the Virginia State Corporation Commission Jan. 20, to build a 20-megawatt solar project on approximately 125 acres of land owned by the company near the Remington Power Station in Fauquier County. Facility would be capable of generating enough electricity at peak capacity to power 5,000 homes and be operational in 2016.

Day-long storm in forecast: Snow and ice will impact both rush hours tomorrow, Jan. 14, says VDOT

Virginia Department of Transportation is asking drivers to prepare for a day-long storm tomorrow that could make driving hazardous in northern Virginia. Drivers are asked to monitor weather forecasts today, and consider teleworking or delaying travel tomorrow. Drivers are also asked to plan for a longer than normal commute, with snow predicted in the morning and hazardous sleet and freezing rain beginning in the afternoon.

The meeting is being rescheduled, and Gainesville Supervisor Pete Candland said he will send out a note as soon as the details have been finalized.

PW County Schools administration issues apology for weather-related complications Jan. 6

Prince William County Community Relations Office has issued a statement explaining today's snow decisions and apologizing "for the weather-related complications this morning."
