Western PWC Del. Lovejoy to file five anti-data center bills

Western Prince William Delegate Ian Lovejoy (R-22) has issued a news release saying he will submit five unique pieces of legislation aimed at mitigating growing data center impacts, particularly in Prince William County.

School habitats blend research with resources

Hands-on learning took on a new dimension this year for dozens of students who designed and installed wildlife habitats on school grounds. Habitat plantings are slightly different than pollinator gardens or vegetable gardens, in that they incorporate native plants to provide yearlong shelter and food for a variety of wildlife, including birds, butterflies, native bees, dragonflies, amphibians, and reptiles.

SCC issues final order authorizing Dominion transmission line using Carver Rd. route in Haymarket

The State Corporation Commission (SCC) has authorized Dominion Energy Virginia to construct a new 230-kilovolt electric transmission line and a new substation in Prince William County and the Town of Haymarket that will follow the Carver Road route, according to an SCC press release issued late Friday, June 23.

Single lane closures will occur along northbound Route 29 between Lucas Court and Carver Road in Gainesville in the Lake Manassas area the nights of Monday, May 8 through Wednesday, May 10 from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. each night for drainage pipe replacement, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.
