The National Fish and Wildlife Foundation (NFWF), U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the federal-state Chesapeake Bay Program announced Oct. 12 they've received $2.4 million+ in grants for projects to protect and restore Virginia’s portion of the Chesapeake Bay watershed. The 14 grants announced today will generate $2,115,402 in matching contributions for a total conservation impact of $4.5 million+.

Businesses in Prince William County must now complete and file an annual recycling report with the Department of Public Works by Oct. 15 each year. Code changes that took effect in January 2021 moved the reporting deadline from Feb. 15 to Oct. 15. Homes businesses and businesses based in incorporated towns are exempt.

Spill of unknown chemical in Manassas sends 15 to hospital

Prince William Fire and Rescue Crews arrived shortly after a 6:20 AM dispatch for a reported chemical spill in the 7500 block of Notes Drive, Manassas, with several employees reporting difficulty breathing, according to Matt Smolsky, Assistant Chief.
