To ward off mosquitoes, plant basil, lavender, rosemary, lemongrass and mint. Their natural oils and aromas deter mosquitoes. Tie fresh herbs in a bundle for a pretty, yet functional centerpiece or plant them around your patio area, VDACS suggests.

Living Well with Diabetes class series starts April 28, sponsored by Va. Cooperative Extension

In a series of four 2-hour classes starting April 28, participants can learn strategic ways to manage Type 2 diabetes. The program includes nutrition education, medication guidance and counseling on self-management.
