Virginia’s April 2022 General Fund revenues exceed forecasts, Governor reports

Gov. Glenn Youngkin announced May 12 that April revenue collections exceeded forecasts, growing 45.7 percent over April of 2021. General fund revenues were approximately $1.9 billion higher year-to-date than the mid-session revised forecast issued in February. Total revenue collections have risen 19.0 percent through April, well ahead of the revised annual forecast of 9.2 percent growth.

Court okays release of juvenile’s name in Gainesville murder case; PWC Police offer $5000 reward

On May 10, detectives with the Prince William County Police Department's Violent Crimes Bureau identified two suspects sought in connection to the fatal shooting that occurred in the area of the Somerset Pointe Apartments located in the 14000 block of Deming Dr. in Gainesville (20155) on May 8. One of the suspects is a juvenile.

Update—Reward being offered in April 15 shooting at Gar-Field High School near carnival

Through a PWCPD partnership with the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), a $5,000 reward is being offered in connection with the arrest and conviction of the suspect involved. The Prince William County Police Department is also offering up to an additional $1,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest and conviction in this case.
