The Prince William County Service Authority (Service Authority) says it is committed to delivering uninterrupted service in all circumstances, including harsh winter weather. Dr. Charlie Broaddus, State Veterinarian with Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (VDACS), in collaboration with the Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources (DWR), has issued a permit to Nicolas “Santa” Claus, of the North Pole, to bring his herd of “eight tiny reindeer” and one additional rare, red-nosed reindeer into Virginia on the evening of Dec. 24.

The investigation revealed the driver of a 2014 Honda Civic was traveling at a high rate of speed east on Sudley Rd approaching Rixlew Ln when the driver lost control of the vehicle and struck a curb. The vehicle rolled several times before coming to rest in the parking lot of a local business.

Crews across the district will begin pretreating roads overnight Tuesday through overnight Wednesday and will begin deploying trucks early Thursday morning to treat roads as needed. VDOT asks motorists to please monitor forecasts closely as forecasts can improve or worsen quickly. The National Weather Service forecast shows winter weather will impact the region from overnight Wednesday through Friday. The forecast shows the potential for periods of freezing rain and sleet, as well as below-freezing temperatures, heavy rain, and high winds. 

The mass meeting is planned to be held on January 4, 2023, at Battlefield High School and will be open to any registered voter residing in the Gainesville district who promises to support the election of the candidate nominated.
