Homicide Investigation – On Friday, Feb. 2, 2024 at 2:07AM, Prince William County Police officers responded to the area of Bronson Ct. and Brickwood Dr. in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a shooting. Upon arriving in the area, officers located a 23-year-old woman inside of a vehicle suffering from gunshot wounds. Fire and rescue responded and pronounced the victim dead on the scene.

Senate Bill 388 sponsored by State Senator Stella Pekarsky’s (D-Fairfax) would ban surprise extra fees in many transactions, including phone upgrades, concert tickets, car rentals and hotel stays.

Officials from Prince William County Fire Marshal's Office are on the scene investigating the cause of an apartment building fire in Occoquan that was reported shortly after midnight today, Jan. 17. The Building Official determined the six-unit building was unsafe to occupy. The Red Cross is helping eight people find housing.

Prince William County Fire and Rescue units were dispatched this morning, Wednesday, Jan. 17, at 6:19 a.m. to a restaurant fire at the Chick-fil-A, located in the 9900 block of Sowder Village Square, Manassas, off Rt. 28 near Manassas Airport, for a report of the building on fire, according to Matt Smolsky, Assistant Fire Chief-Fire Marshal.

Prince William County Planning Office reports it has released interactive chapters of the adopted 2040 Comprehensive Plan via a new website "in a format that streamlines the user experience and offers more user-friendly options allows for viewing on all platforms and is ADA compliant."

According to a news release, Virginia Senate Democrats defeated Bills 32, 42, 81 and 92 that would have added restrictions to voting including restricted access to early voting, reverse same day voter registration, required photo ID to register and required usw of social; security numbers to verify voter ID.
