Governor’s Executive Order to speed up state licensing and permitting

“Virginia is the only state that has built a government-wide platform that includes permit applications,” said Reeve Bull, Director of Virginia's Office of Regulatory Management. “Executive Order 39 takes this pioneering work to the next level, tasking agencies with bringing the few remaining permit types online and with speeding up processing times across the board.”

Athletes and parents must attend concussion session

Prince William County Schools announced parents and students must attend informational sessions on concussions before students can try out for sports teams. The county school board adopted a concussion policy in April 2011. Information on sessions at individual middle and high schools will be available from those schools after July 1.

PWC redistricting plan approved

Prince William County's redistricting map, designed to more evenly divide voters in the county was approved by the U.S. Department of Justice. The county registrar will be sending out information on voting places and districts in the near future.

Area commutes can be a breeze

Getting to work is a breeze for some and a hard slog for others. If you’re lucky enough to work from home, it may just be a matter of walking from one room to another. You may not even bother getting dressed or putting on makeup or shaving. Others who have to drive to work may be lucky to live close by or they have timed their departure and picked the best route to make it easier. Four locals, chosen at random, shared their driving experiences in the area.
