All Prince William County Public Schools divisionwide after-school and evening activities are canceled for tonight. All after-school and evening activities including night school, GED, and adult education classes, are canceled this evening. SACC and the Next Generation programs will close at 5 p.m. School will continue to operate on a normal schedule for the remainder of today.

Dominion Virginia Power filed an application with the Virginia State Corporation Commission Jan. 20, to build a 20-megawatt solar project on approximately 125 acres of land owned by the company near the Remington Power Station in Fauquier County. Facility would be capable of generating enough electricity at peak capacity to power 5,000 homes and be operational in 2016.

On January 14th at 1:20PM, Prince William County Police officers responded to the 4200 block of Kenton Cir in Dumfries (22025) to investigate a possible abduction. A witness reported to police that a young girl was seen being forced into the backseat of a gray, 4-door sedan by a black male in front of a residence in the above area.

Virginia Department of Transportation is asking drivers to prepare for a day-long storm tomorrow that could make driving hazardous in northern Virginia. Drivers are asked to monitor weather forecasts today, and consider teleworking or delaying travel tomorrow. Drivers are also asked to plan for a longer than normal commute, with snow predicted in the morning and hazardous sleet and freezing rain beginning in the afternoon.
