Saturday trash and recycling collection services held at the Old Nokesville ES and Evergreen Fire Station have been cancelled for Saturday, January 23 due to the inclement weather.

By 2 p.m., about 4,000 trucks loaded with materials will be fully staged along interstates, major roads and subdivision streets in Arlington, Fairfax, Loudoun and Prince William counties (Arlington maintains its own secondary roads). Crews will work 12-hour shifts around the clock and plow interstates, major roads and subdivisions simultaneously.

The forecast has changed and the winter storm is moving much faster than expected. As snowfall maybe begin as early as noon, Manassas Park City Offices and the Community Center are closing today Friday, January 22nd at 10:00am. All classes, programs, and rentals are cancelled.

In anticipation of predicted, but rapidly-changing inclement weather conditions, all Prince William County Public Schools, offices and facilities will be closed Friday, January 22. Schools and SACC will reopen two hours late on Monday, January 25, if conditions permit. Please check for updated status information no later than 5:30 a.m. on Monday.

Manassas Park City Schools have cancelled schools for tomorrow, Friday, January 22nd. In addition, Manassas Park City Offices and the Manassas Park Community Center will close tomorrow at noon in anticipation of tomorrow's forecasted weather. All programs, classes, and rentals after 12pm will be cancelled.

St. Michael's Academy, 14610 Washington St., Haymarket, has rescheduled its Jan. 23 open house to Saturday, Jan. 30, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. due to the impending snowstorm this weekend. Open house for Pre-K-2 will be separately at a date to be determined.

Governor Terry McAuliffe declared a state of emergency at 8 a.m. today, Jan. 21, an action that authorizes state agencies to assist local governments in responding to a major winter storm that is expected to impact the Commonwealth through Sunday.
