Murder Investigation – On January 13 at 1:56PM, officers located what appeared to be human remains and bones in a wooded area in the 8000 block of Barrett Dr in Manassas (20110), according to Officer Nathaniel Probus, spokesman for the Prince William County Police Department.

Prince William County Police Chief Steve Hudson announced Feb. 10 his plans to retire from the police department. Chief Hudson’s last day is scheduled for March 31, 2016.

Virginia Department of Transportation asks drivers to plan now for their commutes Tuesday, as several inches of snow are forecast to impact both the morning and evening rush hours in northern Virginia. Drivers are asked to monitor forecasts for changes or heavier weather bands that may impact their schedule, and to plan accordingly to telework, delay commutes or allow extra time for a slow and cautious trip.

Weather permitting, the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will close the northern portion of the I-395 High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lanes during overnight hours beginning at 9:30 p.m. on Feb. 3-4. The closures are needed for crews to inspect and assess roadway and sign conditions as part of preliminary work related to the future extension of the I-395 Express Lanes.
