U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has begun a new jobs program that will use the national apprenticeship system to hire new employees as agricultural commodity graders. USDA hopes many veterans will apply. Curriculum has been approved by DOL and VA, and enrolled veterans qualify for VA benefits.

PWCS on-time graduation rate climbs to new high - 91.8 percent

A record number of Prince William County Public School students graduated on time in 2016, according to a news release. The new on-time graduation rate of 91.8 percent for students who entered high school in the fall of 2011 and graduated in 2016 continues a steady climb from 83 percent eight years ago, and again outpaces statewide results.

Donation Place @ PWC Landfill to be shuttered Oct. 1 for unspecified period

Beginning Oct. 1, residents will need to find alternatives for disposing of usable unwanted items. The Donation Place @ The Landfill at Independent Hill in Prince William County will be temporarily closed to find a new operator and to make necessary repairs to the building that houses the program.
