Congress voted on Friday, April 28, to pass a short-term spending bill through May 5 to prevent a government shutdown this weekend, according to the office of U.S. Senator Mark Warner (D-VA).

On April 25 at 3:27AM, Prince William County Police Department investigators from the Crash Investigation Unit responded to the intersection of Prince William Pkwy and Balls Ford Rd in Manassas (20109) to investigate a two vehicle crash between a tractor double trailer and a sedan, according to Officer Nathan Probus, police department spokesman.

On April 21 at 9:53PM, Prince William County Police officers responded to a residence in the 11100 block of Privates Ct in Manassas (20109) to investigate a shooting. When officers arrived at the home, they located the victim, a 27-year-old man of Manassas, suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body. He was flown to an area hospital for treatment.

State Senator Jennifer Wexton (D-33) has announced her candidacy for the U.S. House of Representatives, seeking to represent Virginia’s 10th Congressional District. Senator Wexton currently represents a sizable portion of that Congressional District in the Virginia State Senate; her 33rd Senate District spans Western Fairfax and Eastern Loudoun counties, including parts of Leesburg, Ashburn, Sterling, and Chantilly, as well as Dulles International Airport.

“This budget funds the School Board’s adopted budget, meets critical public safety needs, and keeps Prince William County tax bills as the lowest in Northern Virginia,” said Chairman Corey Stewart.

Fatal Crash Investigation – On April 18 at 12:04PM, investigators from the Crash Investigation Unit responded to the intersection of Old Bridge Rd and Antietam Rd in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a two vehicle crash.

While Prince William County Schools are closed April 10-14, Prince William County road crews will continue working along sections of Va. 28 corridor for roadwork and shoulder widening.
