Prince William County Police Department Detectives are currently investigating an officer involved shooting which occurred in the 6800 block of Hartzell Hill Ln in Haymarket (20169) around 10:45 this morning, Friday, Sept. 15.

Dominion Energy is mobilizing hundreds of employees and contractors to respond to what is likely to be one of the largest electric industry restoration efforts in United States history after Hurricane Irma devastated Florida and left millions without power.

Tourism revenue for the City of Manassas reached $68 million in 2016. “The City of Manassas prides itself on being visitor friendly,” said City Manager W. Prince William County Service Authority will begin performing rehabilitation work on the sanitary sewer system in the Manassas area today, Monday, Sept. 11. The work will take about five weeks to complete. Because this rehabilitation work is ‘trenchless’, there will be virtually no impact on traffic, according to Kipp Hanley, PWCSA spokesman.

Attorney General Mark Herring announced Sept. 11 that his office has reached a settlement with A to Z Pawn, Inc., a Manassas Park-area pawnbroker, to provide more than $41,500 in refunds to 638 consumers as a result of the company's alleged violations of the Virginia statutes applicable to pawnbrokers and the Virginia Consumer Protection Act (VCPA).

“State police will have all available troopers out on patrol for the extended holiday weekend, but we need every driver and passenger committed to also doing their part to make their travels as safe as possible,” said Colonel W. Steven Flaherty, Virginia State Police Superintendent.

The typical 1,000 kilowatt-hour residential monthly bill will drop by $1.55 starting Friday due largely to a $2.07 reduction in transmission-related costs, according to a news release from Dominion.
