Firefighters douse townhouse fire in Lake Ridge early this morning Nov. 29

A family of five was displaced this morning when fire broke out on the rear deck of a Lake Ridge townhouse on Tatiana Way and extended up into the attic and minimal damage to one adjoining home.

Nearly a ton of prescription medicines turned in on “Take-Back Day” April 30

A total of 1,876.4 pounds of expired or unused prescription medications were collected at three hospital locations in the greater Prince William County area during "Take-Back Day" on Saturday, April 30.

Bank robbery in Lake Ridge shortly after 1 p.m. on May 6

On May 6 at 1:07PM, officers responded to the BB&T Bank located at 12435 Dillingham Sq in Woodbridge VA (22192) to investigate a robbery. An employee reported to police that an unknown man approached the bank area then displayed a knife and demanded money. The suspect took an undisclosed amount of money before fleeing the area on foot in an unknown direction.

PWC Police find body in Lake Ridge off Cotton Mill

Homicide Investigation – On April 29 at 10:56AM, officers responded to the area of Cotton Mill Dr and Griffith Ave in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a found body. Officers arrived in the area and located the body of an adult woman presumed to be Lizeth Yadira Lopez, 36, who was reported as missing and endangered on April 19.

Drug Take-Back Day this Saturday, April 30, at three local hospitals

Medication take-back sites will be at three location hospital collection sites at Novant Health Prince William Medical Center (Prince William Hospital in Manassas), Sentara (hospital) Lake Ridge, or Novant Health Haymarket (hospital) Medical Center from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 30.

May 14 is annual Green Community Day in Westridge

The Annual Community Green Day on Saturday, May 14, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. rain or shine. There will be a community cleanup, free shredding, metal recycling, gently used clothing collection and a big vendor expo with representatives ranging from Va. Manassas City Police and Prince William County Police will participate in 11th National DEA Prescription Drug Take-Back Initiative on April 30 at hospitals in Manassas, Lake Ridge and Haymarket, VA.

Lake Ridge Lions offering $1000 scholarship

Lake Ridge Lions are accepting applications for a $1,000 scholarship from qualified students. Applications must be received by the Scholarship Committee by April 15th. The Lions Memorial Scholarship, given for 40+ years, is awarded to a student living in Lake Ridge (22192) who exemplifies the spirit of service to others, a spirit that was the hallmark in the lives of fellow Lions, James Dunivin, Horace Franklin, Donald Keyes, Bill Briggs, and Gina Reyes.

Brig. Gen. Clara Leach Adams-Ender (U.S. Army, Retired) of Lake Ridge, a “Living Legend” of American nursing and a pioneer of military equality, “Let Freedom Ring” March 4, when she visited Williamsburg’s historic First Baptist Church and rang its restored Freedom Bell, silent from the period of segregation until this year.
