Residents are invited to join the City of Manassas and Historic Manassas, Inc. on the Manassas Museum lawn for the second annual National Night Out event on Tuesday, August 5.

The Civil War-era writing--or graffiti--by Union soldiers on the walls of the historic 1825 Liberia House in Manassas is competing for a place on this year’s Virginia’s Top 10 Endangered Artifacts list. Although only a few signatures are fully visible, historians believe that many more exist throughout the house. A Master Plan for the restoration of Liberia Plantation in the city of Manassas was named the Outstanding Preservation Plan during the American Planning Association's Virginia Chapter Annual Awards, according to Patty Prince, public affairs specialist for the city.
